Monica has loved painting since her childhood. In 1987 she studied under Leonor Barreto, a Venezuelan artist, who taught her how to create three dimentional abstract art using mixed media and colored texture.

Her art work is a combination of texture and color using wood or canvas panels. Her unique style is created by using fibers of cotton mop heads as brushes and combining floor wax with powder oxide pigment bonding the colors to the media a.nd two coats of varnish

Monica is a commited full time artist. She has been encouraged by family, and friends to transform her passion into amazing paintings. Her sucess is her inspiration to continue to create new art poetry.
Everyday she discovers new subjects and techniques for her creations.

Monica Richards was born in Venezuela and has been living in the USA since 1999.
